Pilates

Pilates as a form of therapy is a method in which the body and the mind work together with the main objectives of strengthening the muscles (from the deepest to the most superficial), increasing the levels of strength and flexibility of the body, and improving the patients’ capacity of concentration.

It owes its name to its creator, Joseph Hubertus Pilates, who based it on his knowledge of different disciplines, such as gymnastics, traumatology, and yoga.

This physical conditioning system consists of a set of anaerobic exercises that are performed through a series of smooth and slow movements. There are more than 500 different exercises, although the method can be reduced to 34 basic exercises, from which variations and combinations arise.

It is related to yoga, and both share aspects, such as strengthening the body, improving flexibility, and the importance of breathing. Because of these benefits, pilates is used to treat several physical conditions belonging to the musculoskeletal apparatus.

It is important to mention that pilates cannot be used as a treatment method per se, but a complementary one. Either way, this form of therapy is managed very professionally by experts in the area, which are capable of identifying the health problems and create the best treatment plan for each patient.

Thanks to the experience of famous chiropractors located in the beautiful town of Spring, TX, such as Dr. Bolz, you will receive preventative and regenerative care techniques through pilates that will help your body heal, while providing better flexibility, controlled balance, and enhanced strength.
